Why is motorcycle shipping different from car transport?
Motorcycles are two-wheeled vehicles with different balance and security requirements. Unlike cars, they need specialized pallets, wheel chocks, and specific soft-tie strapping systems to remain upright and stable. We use specialized motorcycle-friendly trailers to ensure the bike’s suspension and frame are protected from vibration and road shocks.
Is my motorcycle safer in an enclosed trailer?
Yes. While open transport is an option, we highly recommend Enclosed Transport for motorcycles. It protects your bike from rain, road salt, dust, and debris. Since motorcycles are more exposed than cars, an enclosed environment ensures your bike arrives in the exact same condition it was picked up.
How exactly do you secure the bike so it doesn't fall?
We use a professional 4-point soft-tie system. We attach straps to the non-damaging parts of the motorcycle (like the frame or lower forks) rather than the handlebars, preventing stress on the steering head or grips. The bike is held upright in a custom motorcycle chock, which locks the front wheel in place.
Do I need to empty the gas tank?
We require you to reduce the fuel level to approximately 1/4th of a tank. This is a safety regulation for transport carriers to reduce the weight and the risk of fuel leaks during transit. Please do not fill the tank completely.
What if my bike is customized or lowered?
No problem at all. We have extensive experience with custom choppers, low-clearance sportbikes, and extended-swingarm motorcycles. When requesting your quote, please let us know the ground clearance and any modifications so we can ensure the driver brings the right lift-gate or loading ramp.
Is it possible to ship a motorcycle if it's not running?
Yes, we can definitely ship non-running bikes. However, you must inform us at the time of booking. Non-running bikes require a winch-equipped trailer and extra care during loading. We will ensure the right equipment is dispatched to pick up your bike safely.
What documents do I need to prepare?
You need to have the motorcycle’s title or registration handy, along with a valid ID. If you are shipping a bike from a dealership or an auction, please have the Bill of Sale and any required release authorization forms ready for the driver.
How is my bike insured during the shipping process?
Every motorcycle we ship is covered by high-limit cargo insurance from the moment of pickup until it is delivered. Unlike standard transit insurance, this policy specifically covers the loading and unloading process, providing you complete peace of mind that your investment is protected.
